In Praise of Shadows

September 12, 2019

A group project rendition of in praise of shadows is in illustrated format is extracted from the text by Junichiro Tanizaki. It is a hand bound publication using single coptic stitch binding and stained wood cover. Without light there is no shadow. Hence, shadows can be formed in darkness, which is why we hid the silhouette in between the shades of the pages. To seek shadows within the dark. Exposed by the light, therein lies beauty. Readers use a light source to reveal the hiddle images between the pages.
